This stone monument is what remains as a testament to an old Episcopal church. Much like an unmarked tombstone, an eerie reminder of impermanence and mortality. The Devil’s Seat in Congress Park is said to have been a place for judgement and reconciliation of gamblers. Ironic as it seems, to be located in Saratoga Springs where horse racing lives notoriously.
(above) A view from the seat, overlooking the gulchlike marshy grounds of Congress Park.
If it was not for the Pokéstop located at this stone throne, I would not have ever seen this monument.
